12:00 to 1:00: 7 Tips for School Psychologists Using AI with Dr. Byron McClure - This portion of the workshop will be recorded.
Dr. Byron McClure is a National Certified School Psychologist and top inspirational speaker. Dr. McClure is currently the Director of Innovation for 7 Mindsets. He formerly served as the Assistant Director of School Redesign at a high school in Southeast, D.C., where he was responsible for leading and reimagining what Social Emotional Learning looked like within an inner-city community. Dr. McClure founded Lessons For SEL, which provided culturally responsive resources to students and staff across the nation as well as internationally.
Workshop Description with Dr. McClure: In an increasingly digital age, Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers vast potential for school psychologists, promising efficiency and novel solutions. However, with the rewards come risks, especially concerning data protection and student privacy. This presentation dives deep into practical strategies school psychologists can adopt to safely and ethically integrate AI tools into their practices.

Dr. Rebecca Branstetter is the author of The School Psychologist’s Survival Guide and founder of the Thriving School Psychologist. Rebecca Branstetter, Ph.D., is a California-certified psychologist and a licensed public school psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her doctorate in Education at the University of California at Berkeley. She is the founder of the Thriving School Psychologist Collective and The Thriving Students Collective, whose mission is to bring mental health and learning support to schools and families. A sought-after speaker and national media expert, Rebecca’s expertise has appeared in various publications, including Huffington Post, Washington Post, NPR, CNN, and Parents Magazine. She has also published several books and created online courses for parents and professionals on supporting struggling students, particularly those with attention and executive functioning challenges.
This course meets the qualifications for 2 hours of continuing education credit for LEPs, LMFTs, LPCCs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. This course also qualifies for 2 hours of continuing professional development for Nationally Certified School Psychologists, under provider number 1025. CASP maintains responsibility for the program and its content.
